Emergency Services to Cardholders Abroad

The so-called Emergency Services provided to cardholders abroad shall be provided by any bank that is a member of the international card association MasterCard. These services shall be provided in case your card is lost, stone, or damaged.

Emergency Services types

  • Card blocking
For more information, see the section “Lost or stolen payment card and unauthorized use”
  • Emergency Card Replacement
A replacement card will be issued with expiration of up to 2 months; the card will be issued by the nearest foreign bank that issues cards. Replacement cards cannot be used to make ATM withdrawals. In case you do not collect your replacement card within 2 days, it will be destroyed, and any related issue costs will be charged to your account. We recommend that you first find out the given bank’s service fees as well as any restrictions (e.g. period necessary to issue the card, replacement card delivery address, etc.).
  • Emergency Cash Advance
Emergency cash advance up to the amount of your current account balance (maximum limit of US 3,000 equivalent) will be made by the nearest foreign bank that issues cards. We recommend that you first find out the service fees as well as any restrictions of the given bank.
